The Topic: Funding MTCVB At the April 28, 2010 Study Session, Town Council directed the Economic Development division to work with the Legal department to draft a Financial Participation Agreement (FPA) between the Town of Oro Valley and the Metropolitan Tucson Convention and Visitors Bureau (MTCVB) that identifies specific performance measures for the agency and evaluation criteria and reporting. The direction also included using other municipality performance measures. This is a one year contract. Performance guidelines for any organization asking for funding in Oro Valley will be presented to Council in July 2010.
Notes: Passed 6-1. Mr. Hornat voted against the proposal because he did not feel MTCVB should have restrictions.
The Topic: Approval of the 2010-2011 Budget The fiscal budget for the town is $116 million dollars. This includes a decrease from the 2009-2010 budget and is balanced for this fiscal year. 338 full time positions with no cost of living adjustments but to be reviewed at the midway point of the fiscal year. MTCVB funding of $71,800.00 dollars and TREO funding of $43,521.00 dollars through the bed tax money.
